From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a beautifully designed entrance filled with a floral display that sets a warm and inviting tone. The interior is modern and spacious, making it an excellent spot for casual dinners, family gatherings, or even large celebrations like birthdays.
The staff at COSMO Derby are incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that your dining experience is as enjoyable as possible. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. Our table was clean and well-presented. Furthermore, throughout our meal, the team efficiently cleared away empty plates so we could fully enjoy the buffet without clutter.

One of the best things about COSMO Derby is the sheer variety of food available. Whether you’re an adventurous eater or prefer to stick with familiar favourites, there’s something to satisfy every taste.
Teppanyaki Counter
One of the highlights of the buffet is the live teppanyaki station. Here, skilled chefs cook your chosen ingredients right in front of you on a sizzling hot plate. We opted for chicken and beef, both of which were cooked in a rich garlic butter. Watching the chefs prepare the food was also a fun experience that added to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Asian Cuisine
Asian food lovers will be spoiled for choice at COSMO Derby. There’s a sushi bar offering freshly made rolls, a noodle station where you can customise your dish, and an impressive selection of Chinese and Thai dishes. From sweet and sour chicken to fragrant Thai curries, the flavours are bold and authentic.
Indian Food Counter
For those who enjoy Indian cuisine, COSMO Derby does not disappoint. Their Indian food counter features a variety of curries, ranging from mild to spicy, as well as freshly made naan bread and crispy poppadoms. The chicken tikka masala was a standout dish, with a creamy and slightly sweet sauce that paired perfectly with the pilau rice.
A big plus is the clear allergy labelling on all the dishes. My partner has a peanut allergy, and we were pleased to see that COSMO Derby takes allergy notifications seriously. Every dish is clearly labelled with allergen information, which gave us peace of mind while selecting our meals.

If you prefer classic Western dishes, COSMO Derby has plenty to offer. There’s a pizza and pasta station, a carvery serving up roast dinners and a BBQ counter. There is even a salad bar for those looking for a lighter option. The pizza had a thin, crispy base with generous toppings, while the BBQ counter offered grilled meats that were juicy and full of smoky flavour.
Sweet Treats – The Perfect Way to End Your Meal
No meal at COSMO Derby would be complete without visiting the dessert counter. The selection here is just as impressive as the main courses, featuring a variety of cakes, hot puddings, and even a chocolate fountain.
The sticky toffee pudding was a standout, served warm with a rich toffee sauce. We also loved the ice cream station, where you can serve yourself a classic cone – a fun touch for both kids and adults. If you have a sweet tooth, you certainly won’t be disappointed.
Drinks at COSMO Derby
COSMO Derby offers a selection of drinks to complement your meal. They have a bottomless drinks option, which allows you to refill soft drinks as much as you like. However, I personally found these to be a little watered down and not as refreshing as I’d hoped.
On the plus side, the restaurant offers a great selection of cocktails, beers, and wines. The cocktails, in particular, were fantastic. I would recommend trying a mojito if you’re visiting.
