I’ve always been someone who could boast about having naturally long, thick hair. For most of my life, I never had to worry about thinning or damage, and my hair was often my most complimented feature. That all changed a couple of years ago when I got a little adventurous with bleach and dye. I went from my natural dark shade to experimenting with lighter tones and blonde balayage. I did love this blonde era, but unfortunately, it left my hair in a less than ideal condition. Slowly but surely, the damage started to set in – my hair became dry, brittle, and lifeless.
On top of that, I’ve always had a dry scalp. I’d hoped the bleaching and colouring wouldn’t worsen it too much, but it did. It got to the point where not only was I dealing with straw-like hair, but I was also constantly battling flakes, irritation, and general scalp discomfort.
Then, almost as if the hair gods were listening to my frustrations, I was gifted the Vegamour haircare line to try. I was kindly gifted their
- GRO Revitalizing Vegamour Shampoo and GRO Revitalizing Vegamour Conditioner
- GRO Vegamour Hair Serum – 3 pack
- HYDR-8 Deep Moisture Recovery Mask
- HYDR-8 Weightless Repair Oil
I had heard some buzz about Vegamour, particularly their plant-based formulas that promise to help with hair health and growth. Therefore, I was genuinely excited to see if these products could breathe some life back into my poor, damaged hair.
First Impressions
The first thing I noticed when the Vegamour package arrived was how sleek and aesthetically pleasing the packaging was. It felt like I was opening luxury skincare for my hair. The clean, minimal design immediately gave me high-end, which I appreciate.
The GRO Revitalizing Shampoo & Conditioner
I started with the GRO Revitalizing Vegamour Shampoo and Conditioner, which are supposed to help with strengthening hair and promoting hair growth. Vegamour suggests that you will have a 79% reduction in breakage after one use and the strands of your hair will be 5x stronger after one use. I went about using these products with every hair wash to get a clear review of the results.
When I used the GRO Revitalizing Vegamour Shampoo and Conditioner for the first time, the experience was luxurious. The shampoo lathered up beautifully and smelt incredible. It didn’t feel harsh or stripping, and I could tell it was a quality formula. The conditioner was equally impressive; it was creamy but not too heavy, and it left my hair feeling soft and hydrated without weighing it down.
After my first wash, I noticed a difference in how my hair looked – it was less frizzy, smoother, and shinier. Often, when I wash my hair, it becomes an unmanageable, frizzy mess. But with this duo, my hair looked like it had been lightly styled and straightened – not something I’ve ever experienced from just washing and conditioning!
After a few weeks of consistent use, I began to notice subtle improvements. My scalp wasn’t as dry or flaky, and I had fewer flyaways. My hair wasn’t magically fixed overnight, but it definitely felt healthier. I also loved that the shampoo and conditioner are vegan and free of any harmful chemicals – knowing that I’m not putting anything too harsh on my hair was a big plus.
HYDR-8 Deep Moisture Recovery Mask
The next product to mention is the HYDR-8 Deep Moisture Recovery Mask. It is recommended to use this every second wash in place of the conditioner. This mask is said to reduce frizz and deeply nourish the hair. I really suffer from frizzy hair, this is something I have always struggled with. So I was intrigued to find out the results.
From the first use, I could tell it was a game-changer. I applied it after shampooing and left it on for about 5 minutes. The texture is rich and creamy, and when I rinsed it out, my hair felt incredibly soft and hydrated.
Over time, this mask helped restore a lot of the moisture my hair had lost from bleaching and colouring. My ends felt smoother, and my hair was shinier overall. I could also tell that the mask helped with detangling, which was a blessing since my damaged hair tended to knot up easily.
GRO Hair Serum
Now, the Vegamour gro hair serum is probably the product I was most intrigued by. Vegamour UK claims that this serum can help with hair growth and thickness by nourishing the scalp. It comes in a small bottle with a dropper, and the instructions suggest applying a few drops directly to the scalp and massaging it in daily. The serum also claims to support an optimal scalp environment, which is something that I really aim for.
My first impression of the Vegamour hair serum was that I found the pipette easy to use. However, I did worry a bit about whether I was distributing it evenly over my scalp. I’ve been applying a few drops daily (or as regularly as I can remember!) and gently massaging it into my scalp. It absorbs quickly without leaving any greasiness, which is perfect.
Overall, I struggled to keep up with the daily routine required to gain the best results from the Vegamour gro hair serum. I applied the serum once I washed my hair twice a week, so therefore I did not notice any considerable growth. However, if the Vegamour hair serum is used daily for three months it would be a different case.
HYDR-8 Weightless Repair Oil
Finally, the HYDR-8 Weightless Repair Oil was the finishing touch to the hair care routine. The hair oil is said to reduce frizz and flyaways as well as add shine. I’m usually wary of oils because they can sometimes make my hair look greasy or weigh it down, but this one is true to its name – weightless. I noticed straight away that the consistency was unique; it’s more watery than traditional oils. I applied a small amount to the mid-lengths and ends of my hair before drying my hair. It gave me a healthy-looking shine and reduced my frizz. It also provided an extra layer of moisture, which my dry ends desperately needed.
What I love most about this oil is that it’s not just a styling product; it actually nourishes the hair while taming frizz and flyaways. Over time, I noticed that my ends weren’t breaking as much, and my hair looked more polished overall.
Final Thoughts
After using the full Vegamour haircare line for several weeks, I can honestly say that I’m impressed. My hair isn’t 100% back to its pre-bleach glory, but it’s definitely on the road to recovery. The GRO Revitalizing Vegamour Shampoo and Conditioner helped with strengthening and improving my scalp health, while the HYDR-8 Deep Moisture Recovery Mask and Weightless Repair Oil did wonders for hydration and shine. The Vegamour GRO Hair Serum was a nice bonus, however, you have to be strict with your daily hair routine to gain benefits from this.
Overall, if you’re dealing with dry, damaged hair or scalp issues, I would recommend giving Vegamour a try. The products are clean, vegan, and effective without being overly harsh. They’ve certainly helped improve the condition of my hair, and I’m excited to see how much more progress I can make with continued use.
